I was really looking forward to Zen Lounge. The idea of a restaurant serving proper halal sushi, bao buns and more. However, starting with the service and mess up of the order have the experience and not so happy start.
Some of the food was good and others not so great. For example their chicken wings I’d not order again. While the dynamite prawns were great, it was just crazy small. Their sushi was good, however no one was able to tell us what was served. Quantity wise, everything is small. The basket containing the dim sums look like they only take up around 1/4th or 1/3rd of the space, basically 6 mini sized pieces in each.
I left the place confused if it was an upscale place with terrible service and iffy food quality on some items or just an over priced restaurant with bad service.
I visited the Zen Lounge and had dinner and shisha with my friend. The food was delicious. My favourite was the lamb cutlets and the shrimp dragon sushi rolls. The shisha was a plus. The decor was 10/10. Everywhere in the lounge was beautiful, you could take pictures anywhere. My friend and I ordered a lot of food and drinks + 1 shisha. The servers were kind and friendly. They always checked in with me to make sure I was okay or if there was anything I needed. I really enjoyed myself. It was worth the money.
Deep fried Shoe-shi not impressive at all. Think the restaurant can do with investing in a proper sushi 🍣 chef and tain the staff better. Beef with rice was good though doesn’t justify the price. Exoerience🫰 not worth the money !!
Very disappointing experience
Unfortunately, our visit was far from what we expected. The staff were difficult to communicate with — possibly due to a language barrier — and didn’t seem properly trained. I was served a bottle of Coca-Cola with just a straw, no glass, which felt very unprofessional. When our starters arrived, we weren’t given any plates to eat from — are we expected to eat them straight off the serving dish?
When we mentioned that we didn’t like the food, there was no response or care shown. No one checked on us during the meal to ask if everything was okay. Even when it came time to pay, we had to go up to the staff ourselves because they were too busy chatting among each other.
The overall impression is one of poor management and lack of staff training. For the prices they charge, the service and food quality should be much higher. The food tasted frozen and lacked freshness. Big no from me — I won’t be returning
Amazing restaurant, food and the vibes! will definitely be coming back here again! Shoutout to Jose and Vlad for making our experience here very special – well done boys!
