April 20, 2025 at 9:28 pmTucked down a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it alleyway in Holborn, Ye Olde Mitre is a historic pub that feels like stepping into a time capsule. Dating back to 1546, this charming spot oozes character with its low ceilings, dark wood paneling, and cozy nooks, making it a perfect slice of old London. The rich history—ties to Elizabethan England and a rumored haunt of Charles Dickens—adds a layer of intrigue that’s hard to beat.
The ambiance is unbeatable: warm, welcoming, and quintessentially British, it’s the kind of place where you can settle in with a pint and feel like a local. The ale selection is stellar, showcasing well-kept traditional cask ales, and the lunch menu offers hearty pub fare—think pies, sandwiches, and ploughman’s—that hits the spot without breaking the bank. Service is friendly, with staff happy to share tidbits about the pub’s storied past.
Ye Olde Mitre is a must-visit for anyone exploring London, offering a delightful pause for a pint and a bite in an atmosphere steeped in history. Seek it out—you won’t be disappointed!

July 16, 2025 at 10:29 pm🍻 Charming Pub Vibes in a Hidden Alley! 🇬🇧✨
We only stopped by for drinks (no food this time 🍽️), but it was a lovely short visit! 🍺 The beer selection was solid, and prices were what you’d expect for London 💷 – not cheap, not outrageous.
Staff were super friendly and attentive 🙌, and the whole place has that warm, traditional English pub feel 🏡. There’s a nice little outdoor seating area too – perfect for a sunny pint 🌤️🍻.
We even got “lucky” and scored a free beer 🍀 because the keg was nearly empty – cheers to that! 😂 But I wouldn’t count on that happening twice 😅
Just a heads-up: the ladies’ room is upstairs 🚻 (accessible only via stairs), and the pub is tucked away in a charming alley – cute, but a bit tricky to find at first 🕵️♀️🗺️. They do accept card 💳, which is always a win.
Definitely worth a visit for good vibes and a proper pint! 🍺💬🇬🇧

July 17, 2025 at 5:04 pmI came here on a pub tour with my wife for our honeymoon. Our tour guide arranged for us to have the pork pie and a London Pride ale. The atmosphere and service here were phenomenal. We didn’t get enough time to sit and try other dishes but the offering of meals was impressive and the punny names were a nice touch.

August 13, 2025 at 7:00 pmHidden down a narrow alley between tall office buildings is this quiet little pub frozen in time from Ye Old London. Hasn’t changed at all since I was here 27 years ago. No Loud music, just hushed conversations over proper pints of real ale served by friendly bartenders. Love this place!

August 21, 2025 at 10:00 pmAmazing old pub located in London. Had charm and great seating. The bartender was absolutely amazing and engaged with the whole family. We were lucky enough to sit in the snug room which was a pretty cool experience. Highly recommend a visit here for a pint while exploring London!
