March 23, 2025 at 3:46 pmThey always start the coffee machine cleaning too early (up to 1 hour before store closes!) which is problematic especially on a Sunday. While they have various counters with fresh food, these are also often closed from mid afternoon – not very helpful for any shopper who works during the day!

March 24, 2025 at 9:43 amAvoid. Literally no reason to shop there. Prices so much higher and staff so much worse than other local supermarkets.
The staff are rude and unhelpful, self service/ click and collect staff snarl if you need them to help. Shelf stackers block the isles and demand right of way over customers. All staff want to do is gossip with each other and not work. Go to Sainsburys or Tesco and they are super friendly and helpful
Shop Sainsburys Seldon, Warlingham or Tesco Purley and save £100s and get friendly helpful staff

Great place, highly recommended

July 8, 2025 at 2:54 pmThis store in Sanderstead has ceased to be a place I will go to. The store is just not the same. The staff can be cold to ice. The customer telephone lines are not answers, and voice messages are ignored. When I complained about this store, I was told Waitrose knew the phone did not answer and (one day) the Waitrose Customer Service Team (might) deal with that problem. But from my experience, they probably will not even try. The customer service team’s idea of helping me was to tell me to complain in-store. But in-store management does not listen or even seem to care. They never rang me back.
The management team at this Sanderstead waitrose store is not there for the customer. Even the CEO of Waitrose / John Lewis cannot be bothered to deal with this store. He passed it to a customer service person who repeated previous execuses on behalf of the store ( in the vein of “no, they do not answer their phones and go away now, we are not listening to you at all” replies).
Thus, why should I go to this store? It is not a good shopping experience due to some of the management and how they lead their staff in my view. If zero stars could be offered, there would be zero stars for this store.

August 16, 2025 at 8:34 pmHigh quality produce, no doubt. But the prices are too high, maybe it’s something they should reconsider given how good the place is and all.
