The fish & chips were crispy and perfectly cooked, the Meat Pit platter was smoky and packed with flavor, and the drink selection hit the spot, especially their ales and cocktails Great vibes, historic setting, and solid service. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in town!

Very good portions. The steak and ale pie had a brief scent of beer in the stuffing which gave a special twist than a regular pie. Crispy crust. Smooth and buttery potato mash.

July 10, 2025 at 12:06 amHad a wonderful experience here at the Old Wellington! We had a reservation for two at 7pm on a surprisingly busy Wednesday and were seated in the second floor dining area. There was one waiter working essentially the entire floor and did an awesome job considering that the establishment was evidently understaffed for how many people they were serving. While we did have to wait for our drinks, appetizers, and entrees, everything was delicious and worth the wait. The Pornstar Martini was delectable and I the beef ale pie was comforting and fulfilling! Would recommend for anyone looking for a traditional but curated English meal in Manchester!

Their pies are great. Full of flavor. Great menu options too!
