August 27, 2023 at 1:23 pmQuite splendid traditional pub in the centre of Leicester that offers a great range of cask ales (a dozen taps or more) at moderate prices. The pub is nicely decorated and comfy, and there’s a small outside seating area in the back that even has its own TV. Nice community atmosphere, friendly and competent service. All round one of the best traditional pub options in the city.

December 10, 2023 at 8:35 amUp at 5 and a 5-hour train trip to Leicester to watch “The Argyle ” in Leicester today!! Really nice pub, plenty of real ales. And very good service. Met up with the “Midland cronies” and I had a couple of Black Horse Christmas ales, which were excellent. Could have done without the full Christmas music, though !! But hey ho I am a Grinch!!! We got stuffed, but who cares 🤔 😁. Still a cracking day out and we get to go back to sunny Plymouth 🌞

August 10, 2025 at 8:43 amKilling time in Leicester, I found it in the CAMRA guide. Big range of hand pumps, nice inside, roof terrace. It is not very inviting from the street, but it is a great little pub.
