April 26, 2025 at 10:27 amWonderful service! I came in with no knowledge about what I wanted for some gifts for family members and was gently guided through the types of coffee roasts that the shop holds
They’ve been around for nearly 140 years so the staff know their stuff!
Thank you so much to the newest staff member for helping me, I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name!

May 18, 2025 at 11:14 amThis is the only place outside of Italy that does a proper espresso, for real. I traveled all around the world and it’s almost impossible to find a decent espresso outside of Italy (except maybe in Portugal). This place is a true gem, not so hidden at this point. The staff is super nice, and the scent of coffee and chocolate inside the shop is sublime.

July 19, 2025 at 5:08 pmAmazing coffee! We had two double espressos — rich, smooth, and full of flavor. Algerian Coffee Stores is a hidden gem with great service and loads of character. A must-visit for coffee lovers when in Soho!

August 12, 2025 at 9:16 pmI love this wee Algerian coffee shop in soho, whenever i visit london, yeno i got to swing by & pick up a espresso or a double.
The smell of coffee in this place is a coffee connoisseur dream. Its like ye stepping back in time of yester year & the shop is 138 years old( if me maths if correct) Oldest shop in compton street.
The staff are amazing & the customer service is brilliant. I went in today & mad busy, much as its a wee shop , its like a tourist place too.
Today i skipped the espresso, i have due to it being busy & decided to buy myself a wee souvenir , a wee espresso cup with Algerian coffee on it and the saucer with it.
Decided i make a affogato in this heat & my coffee and cup looks so pretty.
As a caffinated queen, this shop is heaven
I be back again soon

August 21, 2025 at 8:01 pmI bought a takeaway espresso here for £1.20. Three reasons for my 5* rating:
(1) Friendly polite staff who seem to genuinely love and have a passion for their job and craft.
(2) Amazing tasting coffee. Amongst the best I’ve tasted anywhere in the world even.
(3) And very affordable price. (I couldn’t believe my luck that I found a coffee place in central London that I could actually afford!) Though I think it ties in with my point #1 about how lovely the people working here are – I reckon they’ve kept prices low because they’ve prioritised providing great service for the general public.
Really cool decor inside also, note to mention the lovely aroma of coffee beans.
